This section will show how I go about trying to ID anyone, but will highlight how to find unknown parents, etc

PAGE 6
1 We are now on the SHARED MATCHES page
2 Unfortunately, close family does not help when seaching for lost people unless they are willing to share their DNA results page with you. And even if they do share, you should be a match to all the same people until you get out to 4th cousin and beyond.
3 Looking down my list, I only see three trees that may help me. (the person who only has 26 people, those people are likely already in my tree.)
4 BUT even though someone may not have a tree themselves. I will click on that person and see if any of their DNA matches have trees.
5 Because these matches are only showing me the people I am interested in, I find it much faster and focused than looking over my full list of DNA matches.
6 However, seaching this way only lists people down to those with 20 cM match or more. You should be matches to many more distant cousins but they are not likely to help you in your search unless you have already ID'ed them as a known family member.
