9/30/13
WI - LOMIRA - BUBLITZ'S - DONE

I was on a 30-minuted mid-day break so I went with the buffet.
The meatballs in the hotdish were good, the rest of the hotdish was 'midwestern bland.' Tried some beef wrapped around a pickle, it was not something I would order.
Soup was good, salad bar was fresh, didn't try any of the deserts.
With ordering the salad bar the service was limited but good.

WI - BELOIT - RODEWAY INN - DONE

We had stayed next door at the Econo Lodge the last time I was here, this time I was traveling alone and decided to try the Rodeway Inn instead. Turns out that the trucker rate here is less than the coupon rate next door. Both places have lots of room for truck parking.
The place is old … I don't think they build one level motels anymore unless you are really out in the sticks. Other than being old, everything was in good repair. My room had two doors, one to the hallway, one to the outside.
Other than that, nothing too memorable, clean, quiet and the temp control worked.
Breakfast was a unique twist, instead of the usual spread you could get a 'basic' breakfast next door at the Dawg. I think there were six choices, including egg and toast, two hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy … or take $2 off of any breakfast on the main menu.
Food was good, service was good, so I was back the next day for the soup & salad bar.

10/1/13
WI - ANKENY - FRAZOLIES - DONE

I miss Fazoli's, we had them in our area for just a short time and then they were gone. Today it was just a trip through the drive thru, staff was pleasant.
Food was great … for drive thru, I had the Twice Baked Lasagna, not quite as good as the meal I paid three times as much for a few days later, but almost.
